Located on the right bank of the Dniester River, within the perimeter of Mărcăuți village (Dubasari district), the access area to this karst cave opens up a spectacular panoramic view of the Dniester and the village of Molovata Nouă.
Although known locally, the cave came to the club’s attention and was first identified in 2022 by a member of the “Abis” Speleo Club, following a field observation when her accompanying dog showed unusual behavior at the edge of the pit.
Main Entrance: Represents a vertical shaft approximately 5 meters deep. Due to its immediate proximity to the access road and the absence of protective barriers, fencing, or warning signs, this entrance poses a high risk of injury to passersby and animals. Exploration strictly requires technical single rope progression equipment (Single Rope Technique – SRT).
Secondary Entrance: Located approximately 15 meters northeast of the main pit, in the immediate vicinity of a boulder.
The cave is in a medium state of degradation due to the accumulation of household waste dumped over time. Cleaning the underground space and securing the main entrance remain essential priorities for protecting local biodiversity and preventing accidents.
